Everything You Need to Know about CrystaLac’s Grande Finale

Epoxy is toxic and dangerous. I had no idea until I started having an allergic reaction. It took me awhile to figure out what was causing it, but once I did, I knew I had to start looking for alternatives. That’s when I stumbled upon the CrystaLac’s products. Three years later, I haven’t looked back.

Introducing Grande Finale

Recently, CrystaLac released a new top coat called Grande Finale. In this blog post, I’m going to walk you through everything you need to know about using it for tumblers.

If you want a free checklist to help you get started, figure out exactly what you need, check out my freebie below. That way you can get started with the right supplies without buying too much.

What Ways Can You Use Grande Finale?

Grande Finale is a top coat that can be used on tumblers, key chains, pens, and wood signs. It is water-based, non-toxic, and made in the U.S., making it safe to use inside. It is also brand new. For the past three years, I’ve been using Brite Tone, which is also a CrystaLac product. If you’ve seen any of the hundreds of videos I’ve made using Brite Tone, you know I love it! However, I am transitioning to using Grande Finale for my tumblers. I’ll be using both products since I recently bought a lot of Brite Tone and don’t want it to go to waste.

Benefits of Grande Finale

  • One of the main benefits of switching to Grande Finale is the dry time. Brite Tone has a 4-hour dry time, while Grand Finale only has a 2-hour dry time. That means you can get your tumblers done faster. Grand Finale is also less expensive. A gallon of Brite Tone costs about $140, while a gallon of Grand Finale costs $89.

  • Grande Finale can be used to apply glitter or glitter glue. You can also mix in pigments, mica powder, liquid mica, CrystaLac inks, and paints to create different types of tumblers. How much you use and how many coats you need really depends on the type of glitter and your skill level.

For fine glitter tumblers, I’ve found that they’re ready for decals after 5 coats of Grande Finale. For chunky glitter tumblers, they’re ready after 6-8 coats. This number might look different for you. You can use your hand or a brush to apply the Grand Finale. It is non-toxic and safe to touch. However, you need to coat your tumbler quickly since it dries fast. I recommend using your whole hand to spread it around half the tumbler. Grand Finale hardens after 3-5 days, and fully hardens after 2-3 weeks.

Making the transition from Brite Tone to Grande Finale shouldn’t be too difficult. The process is the same. You’ll just be moving a bit quicker. If you’re brand new to making tumblers and want to streamline the learning process, check out my courses and resources here on my site! I also have so many videos on my YouTube channel that covers all the basics.

Grande Finale is a great product that is non-toxic and safe to use. With its 2-hour dry time, you can make tumblers faster and with a smooth finish. I highly recommend you give it a try.
