How to make time for your Crafts & Hobbies

Have you ever had the thought that you didn’t have the time to craft and that you should be doing something more important?

We all lead busy lives, and it can be hard to find the time to make crafts, especially when it comes to making tumblers. We often feel like there is always something more important to do, and that there is no time for our beloved hobbies.

Crafting for Our Mental Health

But it is important to remember that it is not only okay to find time for our hobbies, it’s actually beneficial to our mental health. Studies show hobbies can also help improve chronic pain too! Crafting can help reduce stress and increase happiness, which is so important for our mental wellness and for our brain health as we age. Personally this is how I got started with crafting.

Crafting Isn’t a Race

It is also important to remember that crafting is not a race. We don’t have to rush through things and it is okay if it takes months to learn something new. We shouldn’t get into the trap of feeling like we should be doing something else instead of crafting. It is also good to remember that it doesn’t take as long as you might think to make tumblers.

Don’t “Should” on Yourself

I’m going to be honest with you, there is always going to be dishes, there is always going to be laundry to do, there is always going to be doing things you “should” be doing instead of things that bring you joy. Although for me personally, I have learned that if I don’t carve out the time to spend on creating that I am not as efficient and present in the other parts of my life. Crafting really helps focus my brain and be the best version of myself.

Dedicating Time

Making tumblers with CrystaLac products doesn’t take as long as you might think. You really need a few minutes here and there to be able to apply the various coats. Each coat only takes about 30 seconds to apply, and in under a minute you can apply your coat and move on with your day. And because each coat of Grande Finale dries in two hours, and really dries to the touch in an hour, you can make a high volume of tumblers in a short amount of time.

Scheduling Tips

Let’s talk about a sample schedule. If you have a nine to five job and you have to go into the office three days a week and work remotely two days a week, you can do a coat of tumblers before you leave for work in the morning, and then two more coats when you get home. You can also get smart plugs to turn on and off your tumblers. If you can find a way to get three coats done every single day, you can get your cups done fairly quickly. The longer activities, like base coating, prepping and applying glitter, can be saved for days you have more time, like the days you’re working from home, or a couple of hours one day of the weekend.

Time Saving Tips

The final piece of the puzzle to actually make time for crafting is to find ways where you can save time. We often don’t have time to do everything we want, so it’s important to find ways to make the most of our time.

Here are four specific ways you can save time to create more time for crafting:

1. Meal Prep: Meal prepping can save you time and money. Spend a few hours on the weekend prepping meals for the week, so you don’t have to spend time every day cooking from scratch.

2. Use a timer: Set a timer for tasks that you need to do each day, so you can focus on one task at a time, and don’t get distracted by other tasks.

3. Prioritize your tasks: Take a few minutes each day to think about what tasks are most important, and focus on those tasks first.

4. Don’t multitask: Multitasking can be counterproductive, as you’re not focusing on one thing at a time. Take the time to focus on one task at a time.

By making the most of our time, we can craft more, and most importantly, take care of our mental health. Crafting can be a great way to relax and destress, and it doesn’t have to take up a lot of our time. With a few simple time-saving tips, we can make crafting a part of our daily routine.
